Markisha D. Henderson is an artist, photographer, and owner of M Photography, a Houston-based photography brand specializing in portraiture and creating imagery that is polished, intentional, and personal. What began as a gnawing interest in capturing people, places, and perception gradually developed into an artistic practice centered on showing experiences through her own distinctive perspective.

 

While M Photography didn't officially launch until January 2021, Henderson’s journey behind the camera began years earlier through her exposure to the fashion industry in 2017. Those experiences helped shape her eye for composition, personal style, and detail, while deepening her appreciation for the way an image can communicate far more than what is simply captured within the frame.

 

Portrait photography remains at the heart of Henderson’s work, but the reach of her lens extends well beyond portraiture. Her work includes professional headshots, weddings, special events, travel and street photography, corporate conventions, nonprofit events and service initiatives, among other assignments. Whether she is photographing an individual, a couple, a room filled with professionals, or an organization at work in the community, Henderson approaches each assignment with the intention of creating images that feel authentic to the people, purpose, and stories unfolding in front of her lens.

 

Based in Houston, Texas, M Photography serves clients throughout Houston and the surrounding areas, with domestic and international travel available. For Henderson, the experience surrounding the photograph is just as important as the finished image. She has built M Photography around a white-glove approach to service, bringing intention, attention, and professionalism to every client experience while remaining attentive to the individual needs of the people and organizations she serves. The goal is not simply to deliver memorable photographs, but to make the experience of creating them equally memorable.
